MSI Recognized for College World Series Event

[Omaha, Neb. - June 3, 2008] - MSI Systems Integrators (MSI), a leading comprehensive solution provider of hardware, software, and services, is proud to announce it has been recognized as Community Development Volunteers of the Year by the YMCA Association. The award honors those volunteers that help make the YMCA successful and honored MSI for its joint effort with IBM in organizing an annual College World Series (CWS) event for the Yteens program.

YMCA of Greater Omaha has more than 1,800 volunteers who help build communities all over the metro area. The YMCA honored MSI's efforts at a luncheon with the award on Thursday, May 1 at the Scott Conference Center in Omaha, NE.

"MSI is honored to be part of a program that offers teens a once in a lifetime experience," said Jim Simpson, MSI president and CEO. "We are proud to have been part of this joint effort with the YMCA, IBM and CWS over the years and look forward to continuing the program this summer."

The joint effort of MSI and IBM leadership and employees allows hundreds of teens from the YTeens program of YMCA to attend a College World Series baseball game every year. The volunteer program began 22 years ago with IBM and MSI became a formal sponsor of the event 11 years ago, in 1997. The event provides teens with a ticket to the baseball game, transportation to and from the game, food, a College World Series T-shirt, and a souvenir from the game. MSI employees volunteer for the 'Day at the Ballpark' to providing mentoring and a safe and fun activity with friends.
